Happy Birthday Martha!

Feliz Cumpleaños Martha! It's hard to believe that she was born 70 years ago. Before many of us were born (including myself), Argerich created magic on stage and on record, enriching the lives and souls of many music lovers. And I am sure I am not the only one wishing that there will be many more years of her unique artistry to come.



Here's a look at La Martha over the years -

And finally, one last photo. The photograph below, by German photographer Werner Neumeister, is one of my favourites. Without sounding pretentious, this photo captures the essence of Martha Argerich in my opinion - full of childlike purity and never-ending curiosity, coupled with the wisdom and insight of a sage, and the temperament of a tigress.

A Very Happy and - as you wished - RESTFUL Birthday from all of your devoted fans! May the future bring you not only good health, but also as much joy and fulfilment as you have given us all!
